Personally: Richard was orphaned at the age of six, and spent his childhood living in 19 different foster homes and attending 11 different schools. However, he has always framed that life experience as great training;" no problem meeting and connecting with new people"! He is an avid fan of fast cars, slow dancing, and medium rare entrees.
He believes in philanthropy and provides ongoing support for many organizations including; The Smoky Mountain Children's Home, By the Hand Kids Clubs, and the Iris B. Vest Widow's Care Center.
Professionally: After leaving his last foster home, Richard began his sales and marketing career selling cookware. A lifelong student of business performance, he progressed and went on to become the head of Sales and Marketing for the Robb Report, world-renowned magazine for the affluent lifestyle, and an Executive at an award-winning Rolls-Royce dealership. Although no longer affiliated with those enterprises, Richard's knowledge on how to elevate business performance is across many disciplines: marketing, branding, selling, leadership, service and delivering an elevated customer experience.
Today, Richard has several business interests because he is passionate about helping others elevate their business performance.
As a prolific writer his extensive writings &video clips on topics such as competitiveness, marketing innovation, consumer decision making, customer experiences and other break out strategies, are often featured on WSJ online, FORBES, Fund fire, Gama News Journal. He is frequently interviewed for commentary and context by many correspondents including those assigned with Thompson Reuters, WSJ, and other media outlets.
He is the author of several best-selling books, including his latest, the CEO Read best-seller, The Power of Why: Breaking Out in a Competitive Marketplace.
As an international speaker he delivers several main platform presentations (and often a same day breakout session) each month. Clients for whom he presents , benefit not only from his extensive business experience, but also from his consultations with a wide array of companies with whom he and his research based international consulting firm, the Weylman Consulting Group engage.
With offices and projects throughout the U.S., Canada and the Pacific Rim, he has real world knowledge of the right strategies to cope with the new threats and new opportunities every business and sales professional is facing in the 21st century.

Personal and Professional Recognition On a personal level, Richard has been recognized for his work on behalf of others by several organizations, including a nomination for the prestigious Horatio Alger Award. This award recognizes outstanding individuals in our society who have succeeded in the face of adversity and pursue dreams with determination and perseverance.
Professionally he has been recognized by his peers for his contributions and was inducted into the Professional Speakers Hall of Fame. This lifetime achievement award is given to experts who speak and who have reached the top echelon of platform excellence.
He is also the recipient of the Council of Peers Award of Excellence (CPAE).
Additionally, Richard has earned the designation of Certified Speaking Professional (CSP) from the National Speakers Association and has received the Direct Selling Association's Partnership Award, for outstanding contributions to member companies.
